The final day for filing nomination papers for the upcoming Vidhan Sabha General Election 2024 saw an influx of candidates in Thane district. A total of 281 candidatures were submitted from 18 assembly constituencies, marking a significant step in the electoral process.

Among the candidates, 114 represent various political parties, while 167 are independent candidates. The nominations were filed with the respective election decision officers throughout the day, reflecting a competitive electoral landscape.

Collector and District Election Decision Officer Ashok Shingare confirmed that the scrutiny of these nomination forms will take place on October 30, 2024. Candidates wishing to withdraw their nominations have until November 4, 2024, to do so.
