A 34-year-old Badlapur resident was arrested for allegedly killing his father over a petty issue on April 2.

The accused has been identified as Ganesh Karale, a resident of Belvli village while the deceased was identified as Annata Karale (63).

The incident took place at the Belvli Pawar complex in Badlapur, police said.

Annata owned two shops and their rent was received by Ganesh. There were some differences between the father and son. On April 2, Annata visited the shops and demanded rent from the tenants.

When Ganesh came to know about it, he was furious and confronted Annata at his house. In a fit of anger Ganesh snatched a knife from the kitchen and stabbed Annata about six times.

Ananata was taken to hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. Annata was separated from his family and living separately.
