The Seawoods Traffic Branch has launched a special campaign targeting drivers who violate traffic rules as part of the Accident-Free Navi Mumbai initiative. In February alone, the branch has taken action against a total of 2,719 vehicles, resulting in fines amounting to Rs. 27,24,000. Notably, this campaign included action against motorcycles with modified silencers.
Since taking charge of the Seawoods Traffic Branch, Women Police Inspector Mohini Lokhande has implemented various activities aimed at raising awareness among citizens about the importance of adhering to traffic rules.
As part of this initiative, the Seawoods Traffic Branch has been actively educating drivers at rickshaw stops, schools, colleges, and the Seawoods Railway Station since the beginning of February, urging them to follow traffic regulations. The team has also informed drivers about the consequences of violating these rules.
Additionally, the traffic police have held meetings with rickshaw union driver-owner organisations to further enlighten them on traffic regulations. Officers on duty at each traffic signal have been actively regulating traffic and raising awareness among unruly drivers about the importance of following the rules.
Following this awareness campaign, the Seawoods Traffic Branch took action against vehicles violating traffic regulations.
