Anup Bangargi, a rising tennis star from Navi Mumbai, clinched a Bronze medal for Maharashtra at the 2025 National Games held in Uttarakhand. His impressive performance, alongside teammates Prasad Ingale, Arnav Paparkar, Sandesh Kurale, and Nishit Rahane, contributed to Maharashtra’s podium finish in the prestigious tournament.

The Maharashtra team started strong, defeating Delhi in the first round before facing a formidable Tamil Nadu squad in the semifinals. Despite a hard-fought battle, they fell short, securing the Bronze medal in a testament to their skill and determination.

Bangargi credited his success to the rigorous training at Nerul Gymkhana under the mentorship of Coach Gitesh Awasthi.

“I’m grateful to the Managing Committee at Nerul Gymkhana for their encouragement and belief in my potential,” he said. He also acknowledged the gymkhana’s world-class facilities and structured coaching, which played a crucial role in refining his game.

Vikas Shetty, General Secretary of Nerul Gymkhana, praised Coach Awasthi for his dedication to developing young athletes and reaffirmed the academy’s commitment to nurturing future champions. “Our goal is to produce players who can compete at the highest levels, both nationally and internationally,” Shetty said.

With his sights now set on ITF tournaments, Bangargi is preparing to take his game to the global stage, aiming for even greater achievements in the future.
