Vows to strengthen party unity

Congress will fight for justice in Navi Mumbai, says District President Arvind Naik

The newly appointed Navi Mumbai Congress Committee President, Arvind Naik, has expressed his commitment to further strengthening the Congress party in Navi Mumbai. At a press conference held in Vashi, Naik outlined his vision to unite party loyalists and build a robust network of workers who believe in the party's inclusive, pan-religious ideology.

Naik emphasized that the Congress, along with its allies in the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), has been fighting to provide justice to the people of the state. He assured that in the near future, the MVA will also come together to address the pressing issues facing the citizens of Navi Mumbai. "We will not just fight politically, but we will take to the streets to resolve the burning issues of our people and ensure justice for the common man," Naik said.

The press conference, held at the central office of the Congress party in Vashi, saw Naik take aim at those who have attempted to create a rift within the Congress party in Navi Mumbai. "Those who believe they can divide the Congress will soon see their place. We are determined to fight against the establishment, and we will do so united," Naik asserted, adding that he intends to strengthen the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance in the upcoming Navi Mumbai NMMC elections.

Naik highlighted several key issues that continue to affect the residents of Navi Mumbai, including the city’s parking problem, the regularization of houses for local project-affected people, building redevelopment, hawker policies, SRA schemes in slums, freehold land in the city, and the demand for equal work and equal pay for contract workers. "These are the issues that have been neglected for too long, and we will continue to follow up and work towards resolving them," he said.

The press conference was attended by several prominent party leaders, including State Secretary Shami Bachchar, State Spokesperson Nasir Hussain, Navi Mumbai Vice President Ankush Sonawane, General Secretary Datta Mane, District President of the SC Cell Ratnakar Kudale, OBC Cell President Santosh Sutar, Minority Cell President Anwar Hawaldar, along with former corporators Babasaheb Gaikwad, Datta Jadhav, and Santosh Kamble, among others.
