BEST to operate additional buses on Mahashivratri

Mumbai: In a move to ease travel for devotees and tourists on Mahashivratri, the BEST undertaking has announced the deployment of additional buses on Wednesday, 26th February 2025. The special services aim to improve connectivity to key religious and heritage sites in the city.
BEST Public Relations Officer Sudas Sawant informed that for visitors heading to the ancient Kanheri Caves inside Sanjay Gandhi National Park, six extra buses will be operated on Route No. 188 between Sanjay Gandhi National Park and Kanheri Caves from 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. In addition, the regular bus service between Borivali Railway Station (East) and Kanheri Caves will continue uninterrupted.
To assist passengers, bus inspectors and traffic officers will be stationed at major points, including the Sanjay Gandhi National Park entrance, Ellora Chowki (Borivali Station East), and Kanheri Caves.
Similarly, to accommodate devotees visiting the historic Babulnath Shiva Temple, eight additional buses will operate on Routes No. 57, 67, and 103 between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
BEST Public Relations Officer Sudas Sawant has urged the public to make use of these additional services, ensuring a smoother and more convenient travel experience during the Mahashivratri celebrations.
