Citizens invited to contribute

Navi Mumbai: This Diwali will be a special one for Indian soldiers stationed at distant army bases, as the Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP) Panvel Branch continues its heartwarming initiative, “Sainikaho Tumchya Sathi.” Under this campaign, citizens are encouraged to contribute to sending boxes of homemade sweets and snacks, or ‘faral’, to soldiers deployed at the borders.

“Sainikaho Tumchya Sathi” has been the flagship project of BVP Panvel for the past four years. Launched in 2020, the initiative started by delivering 14,000 ‘ladoos’ in its first year. Over the years, the effort has grown, with 5,000 snack boxes sent in 2021-22, 7,500 boxes in 2022-23, and 10,000 ‘faral’ boxes dispatched to army camps on the western, northern, and north-eastern borders last year.

For 2024, BVP Panvel aims to send 12,000 snack boxes to soldiers before Diwali. Each box will contain five traditional snacks, including nutritious ‘ladoos’, ‘chivda’, ‘chakali’, ‘shev, and ‘shankarpare’, all lovingly prepared and packaged. The contributor’s name will also be mentioned on the box, and each package costs ₹500, inclusive of freight charges.

Bharat Vikas Parishad Panvel invites citizens to participate in this noble cause. Contributions can be made through the Razorpay link, where donors can instantly receive an 80G tax exemption receipt upon payment.
