In a spirited effort to boost voter participation, the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC), in collaboration with the Aamhi Cycle Premi Foundation, organized a bicycle rally aimed at voter awareness on Saturday morning. Participants rallied together to emphasize that "voter discouragement is the killer of democracy" and encouraged citizens to exercise their right to vote.
Professor Sunil Bhusara from Bandodkar College addressed the gathering, urging voters to support election workers who play a vital role in upholding democratic values. He stated, "It is necessary for everyone to exercise their right to vote, and if everyone fulfills their duty properly, the true celebration of democracy will go well."
The rally took place in two phases and concluded at the Amphitheater on Kopri Mith Bunder Road, with around 60 cycling enthusiasts joining the cause. In addition to promoting voter awareness, participants also shared messages about celebrating Diwali in an environmentally friendly manner, enjoying traditional Diwali treats during the event.
