Bhiwandi Nizampur City Municipal Corporation’s (BNCMC) Commissioner and Administrator, Anmol Sagar, held a crucial review meeting focused on the Health and Sanitation Department of the Municipal Corporation.

This meeting marked the beginning of a department-wise review aimed at enhancing public sanitation and addressing citizen grievances effectively.

During the meeting, Commissioner Sagar emphasised the need for immediate action to prioritise public sanitation across the city. He issued strict directives for daily sewer cleaning, increased cleaning frequency in heavily congested areas to twice a day, and special attention to community and public toilets.

The BNCMC Commissioner also mandated that market areas and locations prone to garbage accumulation be cleaned even during nighttime to maintain hygiene standards.

To ensure the safety and professionalism of sanitation workers, the Commissioner instructed that all personnel must be present in uniform and equipped with necessary safety gear.

In a bid to maximise the benefits of the personal toilet scheme for residents, the Commissioner called for a ward-wise survey of households to raise awareness about the initiative.

Additionally, he directed the placement of large dustbins for waste collection in slum areas to facilitate better waste management.

As part of the 100-day action plan, special cleanliness drives will be conducted in each ward, alongside daily cleaning of small drains. The Commissioner also mandated the submission of geo-tagged photos and reports to monitor progress, with weekly work reports required for review.

The meeting was attended by key officials, including Additional Commissioner BNCMC Devidas Pawar, Deputy Commissioner (Health) Shailesh Donde, Sixth Commissioner (Health) Nitin Patil, Health Officer Harish Bhandari, Office Superintendent J.M. Sonawane, and all ward health inspectors.
