BNCMC urges street vendors to avail benefits of 'SVANidhi Bhi Swabhiman Bhi' campaign

After successfully implementing the fortnight-long SVANidhi Bhi Swabhiman Bhi campaign, which provided financial assistance given to 147 street vendors, the Bhiwandi Nizampur City Municipal Corporation (BNCMC) is further intensifying its efforts to ensure the scheme reaches more beneficiaries.

As per the records, during the fortnight 688 street vendors were contacted by the municipal corporation of which 147 beneficiaries were given benefits under Jan Dhan Yojana, PM Suraksha Bima Yojana and PM Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana

A crucial meeting was chaired by BNCMC Commissioner Ajay Vaidya to discuss the way forward for maximizing the campaign's impact. Speaking to Newsband, Nitesh Chaudhari, Head of the Social Welfare Department, shared, "After completing the fortnight program, we aim to continue the initiative and ensure that more street vendors benefit."

To achieve this, extensive publicity measures are in place, including advertisements in newspapers and hoardings at strategic locations. Additionally, a dedicated section has been established on the third floor of the BNCMC building to assist vendors with services such as loan applications, form filling, and status tracking of existing cases. Relevant details have also been made available on the BNCMC's official website.

Banks have been urged to actively promote the scheme by displaying banners and appointing dedicated staff members to expedite pending loan applications.

The meeting saw participation from key officials, including Abhishek Pawar, Manager of the District Leading Bank; Sonali Deore, Director of the District Industries Centre; Deputy Commissioner Pranali Ghonge; Dr. Bushra, Labour Officer; Bhushan Deshpande from the Ration Office; Yuvraj Vadnere from the Women and Child Welfare Office; Nitesh Chaudhary, Head of the Social Welfare Department; and Kailas Patil from the UNM Department.
