The Bhiwandi Nizampur City Municipal Corporation (BNCMC) presented its revised budget for 2024-25 and the proposed budget for 2025-26 on March 24. The revised budget for 2024-25 is pegged at Rs1002.23 crore, while the budget for 2025-26 is set at Rs1097.49 crore, with a balance of Rs9.69 lakh.
“The budget strikes a balance between the corporation’s revenue and its need for infrastructure development and service improvements. Key priorities outlined in the budget include urban beautification, enhanced tax collection, healthcare expansion, water supply improvements, and digital education initiatives”, said Anmol Sagar, commissioner.
A significant highlight of the budget is the plan to raise funds through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) fund. A citywide beautification drive will be implemented with a dedicated task force to oversee its progress.
In healthcare, the corporation has introduced outpatient department (OPD) services at BGP Hospital and is working on establishing a fully equipped hospital to improve medical facilities.
Addressing the city's ongoing water supply challenges, BNCMC is set to launch a 100 D.L.L. scheme to ensure equitable water distribution. The budget also allocates funds for underground sewerage systems and other vital infrastructure projects.
On the education front, BNCMC plans to collaborate with the government to set up digital classrooms, enhancing the learning experience for students. The budget also introduces more efficient fund utilization methods to prevent last-minute reallocations.
To streamline administration, BNCMC plans to develop an Employee Human Resource Management System (EHRMS) and an e-office system to enhance operational efficiency and transparency. The corporation will also focus on environmental conservation, beautifying footpaths, and improving the city's traffic systems.
