CBD police launch unique study initiative for police personnel and their children

Navi Mumbai: In a unique and commendable initiative, the CBD police have repurposed vacant space within the police station to create a study area for police personnel and their children. This creative use of space, originally occupied by seized materials, has been praised by Navi Mumbai Police Commissioner Milind Bharambe, who has suggested that other police stations implement similar activities.

The initiative stems from the concept introduced by Commissioner Bharambe, wherein seized items and vehicles are now centrally collected at the commissionerate level. This has freed up considerable space in all the police stations within the Navi Mumbai Commissionerate. Some rooms, previously used for storing seized items, have been vacated, providing an opportunity for innovative use. Giridhar Gore, Senior Police Inspector of CBD Police Station, seized this opportunity and took the initiative to utilize the empty space for the benefit of the police personnel. Along with setting up a study room, he has also created facilities like a badminton court and an open gym for the officers and staff. The new study area, inaugurated by Police Commissioner Milind Bharambe on Monday, houses an impressive collection of 300 to 350 books, including autobiographies, stories, and novels.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Joint Commissioner of Police Sanjay Yenpure, Deputy Commissioner of Police Pankaj Dahane of Circle-1, Assistant Commissioner of Police Mayur Bhujbal, and other officers and staff members. This marks the first time such an initiative has been introduced in Maharashtra, and Senior Police Inspector Giridhar Gore is receiving appreciation from various quarters for his efforts.
