The CCI-Yonex Sunrise Maharashtra State Masters Badminton Selection Tournament 2024-25, to be held  under the auspices of the Maharashtra Badminton Association (MBA) will be held from 20 to 23 February  2025. The Greater Mumbai Badminton Association (GMBA), in collaboration with the Cricket Club of India (CCI) will take place at CCI, Mumbai

This highly anticipated four day event is expected to witness participation from over 400 veteran badminton players in the age groups 35 to 75+ years, from across the state including Mumbai, Mumbai Suburbs, Thane, Raigad districts will be competing for a chance to represent the state at the Masters National Championship in Goa, scheduled for March 2025.

The tournament follows a structured point-based selection system to determine Maharashtra’s national representatives. Points will be awarded based on players' performance in both the State Selection Tournament and the State Masters Championship, ensuring a fair and competitive selection process.

Sharing his thoughts about the anticipated tournament, Sachin Bharti, Secretary of GMBA, expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming competition.

"This event is a crucial platform for our veteran players who are registered under the Maharashtra Badminton Association (MBA), by providing them with an opportunity to showcase their skills at the national level. We are thrilled to host such a high-caliber tournament and look forward to an exciting competition",  said Sachin Bharti.
