Changes in BEST bus routes announced ahead of Tata Mumbai Marathon 2025

In preparation for the Tata Mumbai Marathon 2025, scheduled to take place on Sunday, 19th January, the Mumbai Traffic Police have announced significant traffic restrictions on the marathon route. The event will run from 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., impacting several major roads in the city.

The marathon will cover a route starting from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and pass through key landmarks such as Hutatma Chowk, Churchgate, Marine Drive, Peddar Road, Haji Ali, and the Bandra-Worli Sea Link, before returning to CSMT via Mahim, Prabhadevi, and Haji Ali.

Public Relations Officer for BEST, Sudas Sawant said, “To ensure smooth conduct of the marathon, the traffic police will enforce restrictions along this route. As a result, the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) has announced changes to several bus routes. Buses usually operating on these roads will be diverted. Specifically, buses will take alternative routes via Sion, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Road, J.J. Hospital, Wadi Bunder, and P. D’Mello Road, or through Mahim, Senapati Bapat Road, Dr. E. Moses Road, Mahalaxmi Station, and Saat Rasta (Jacob’s Circle).”

Additionally, the operations of certain bus routes will be temporarily suspended for the duration of the marathon. These include routes A-78, A-89, A-105, A-106, A-108, A-112, A-123, A-132, and A-155.

Public Relations Officer Sudas Sawant has urged commuters to plan their journeys accordingly.

The Tata Mumbai Marathon is one of the city’s most prominent sporting events, drawing participants from across the globe, and the city authorities are taking all necessary steps to facilitate its smooth execution.
