Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has officially launched the 'Majhi TMT' mobile app, aimed at enhancing the passenger experience for the Thane Municipal Transport (TMT) service. The app will enable passengers to purchase digital tickets through UPI and is set to improve the overall efficiency of bus travel in the city.

The launch event took place at the inauguration of the Dharmveer Anand Dighe Library and Bookstore. During the event, Chief Minister Shinde demonstrated the ticket purchasing process via the app and its verification method by bus conductors. He praised the initiative as a significant advancement in passenger convenience.

The 'Majhi TMT' app allows users to purchase tickets digitally using various payment methods, including UPI, debit cards, credit cards, and net banking. In addition to ticket purchasing, the app provides real-time information regarding bus locations, expected arrival times at stops, and route details. Passengers can easily input their starting point and destination to receive information about available buses and fare details.

This initiative is expected to reduce the need for cash transactions, thereby minimizing disputes between passengers and conductors over fare issues. Currently, the ticketing feature has been rolled out on select bus routes, with plans for a phased expansion to all TMT routes in the near future.

Prominent attendees at the launch included MP Naresh Mhaske, MLA Pratap Sarnaik, Municipal Commissioner Saurabh Rao, Additional Commissioner Sandeep Malvi, TMT Manager Bhalchandra Behre, and former Corporator Vikas Repale, among other dignitaries.
