Clarifies domicile certificate requirement mandatory for Mass Housing Scheme
The City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) has rectified a brochure error pertaining to its housing scheme, clarifying the mandatory requirement of a domicile certificate for homebuyers in Maharashtra. The confusion arose when CIDCO's marketing department erroneously stated in the scheme's brochure that no domicile certificate was necessary, sparking concern among consumers and highlighting lapses within CIDCO's marketing department.
CIDCO swiftly addressed the issue, emphasizing the necessity of a domicile certificate for individuals purchasing homes in Maharashtra. CIDCO's recent housing scheme, announced in January 2024 under the Mahagrihnirman Yojana, offers 3,322 flats under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana for economically weaker sections and general citizens in Dronagiri and Taloja nodes.
Following the inadvertent error in the brochure, CIDCO clarified to the media that submission of a Maharashtra State Domicile Certificate is indeed mandatory for applicants under the MahaGrihinman Yojana January 2024 scheme. The corporation attributed the mistake to a typographical error and promptly corrected the misinformation to avoid any further confusion among prospective buyers.
