Minimum fare now Rs. 10

Navi Mumbai: In a significant move to benefit commuters, CIDCO has reduced ticket fares for the Belapur-Pendhar Metro Corridor by up to 33%. The new fare structure will come into effect on 7th September 2024, with the minimum fare set at Rs. 10 and the maximum fare at Rs. 30.

The revised fare structure is designed to make metro travel more accessible and affordable for residents of Navi Mumbai. Under the new rates, tickets will cost Rs. 10 for the first 0 to 2 km and 2 to 4 km stretches, Rs. 20 for distances of 4 to 6 km and 6 to 8 km, and Rs. 30 for distances beyond 8 km. This represents a significant reduction from the previous maximum fare of Rs. 40 for the full route from Belapur to Pendhar.

CIDCO's Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Shri Vijay Singhal, expressed his optimism about the fare reduction, stating: “To ensure that more and more commuters can take advantage of the fast and comfortable Metro service, we have reduced the ticket fares. This revised fare structure will benefit both short and long-distance commuters. I appeal to the people of Navi Mumbai to continue the good response they have been giving to the Metro service, and take the benefit of Metro service."

The Belapur-Pendhar corridor, developed under CIDCO’s Navi Mumbai Metro project, has significantly improved connectivity to areas such as the Central Business District (CBD), Taloja MIDC, and CIDCO’s housing complexes in Kharghar. Since its launch on 17th November 2023, the metro service has received an overwhelming response from the public.
