Proposal to be presented before code of conduct implementation

In a new development for the residents of Navi Mumbai, CIDCO (City and Industrial Development Corporation) Chairman MLA Sanjay Shirsat announced on September 24 that the proposal to exempt transfer charges will be finalised within the next eight days.

This development follows fruitful discussions with community representatives aimed at reducing the financial burden on homeowners.

At a meeting held at CIDCO Bhavan in Belapur, Shirsat informed members of the Navi Mumbai Citizens Foundation (NMCF) and Sahakar Bharati that negotiations regarding the cancellation of transfer charges have concluded successfully.

He reassured the delegation that the proposal would be drafted and presented to CIDCO’s Board of Directors for approval, emphasising that it would be ready for clearance before the election code of conduct takes effect.

This meeting marked a pivotal moment in the “Transfer Charges Hatava” campaign, which has received significant public backing across Navi Mumbai.

More than 3500 residential complexes have responded to this campaign by giving their letter of support demonstrating widespread demand for the exemption. Satish Nikam, Pramod Joshi, Bhaskar Mhatre, Subhash Mhatre Triveni Salkar, Krishnakant Nimse, Sunil Chhajed, Sunil Chaudhary, Rashmi Sakpal, Uday Tandale, Rohit Gupta, Vineet More and other colleagues were present in this delegation.

Members of the delegation expressed their appreciation for CIDCO’s prompt action, recognising Chairman Shirsat for his efforts in addressing an issue that has long burdened Navi Mumbai residents.
