CIDCO's construction of 44 houses for the rehabilitation of Irshalwadi disaster victims is nearing completion, with efforts to finish all housing units and facilities by July 31. CIDCO Joint Manager Shantanu Goyal confirmed that the project, costing 33 crores, is in its final stages, and possession will soon be transferred to Raigad Collector Kishan Javale.
The initiative follows Raigad Collector's allocation of 2.6 hectares of land, swiftly converted into 44 residential plots of 300 square meters each. To safeguard against future risks, an 8-9 meter RCC protection wall has been erected around the elevated site. Additionally, CIDCO plans to complete amenities like an Anganwadi, community temple, garden, primary health centre, school, and playground.
Despite initial delays due to adverse weather, CIDCO commenced construction in November 2023. Currently, 30 houses are finished, with the remaining 14 nearing completion. The project also includes infrastructure for water, electricity, and roads, reinforcing CIDCO's commitment to delivering comprehensive support to the residents.
Under the leadership of Managing Director Vijay Singhal, CIDCO's engineering department has navigated challenges including land levelling, protection wall construction, and infrastructure development, setting a benchmark in efficient disaster rehabilitation.
