Citizens gear up to dance to Dandiya beats as Navaratri approaches

Navi Mumbai: With Navaratri just around the corner, beginning on Thursday, October 3rd, citizens are eagerly preparing for the nine-night festival by attending dandiya classes to perfect their dance moves. Dandiya, a vibrant folk dance from Gujarat, has gained immense popularity across India and beyond, with enthusiasts of all ages eager to participate in this high-energy celebration.

In Kharghar, the 'Raas' group has been conducting dandiya classes for the past month, offering sessions from 11:30 AM to 10:30 PM at various locations in Kharghar, Kamothe, Panvel, and Nerul. Over 80 participants, including men, women, and children, are honing their skills to dazzle during the upcoming nine-night Dandiya and Raas Garba celebrations.

Radha Mehta and Sanket Viora, the founders of Raas group and renowned dandiya trainers, shared their plans for the upcoming festivities. The group’s performances will kick off on October 3rd at Kharghar Forum near Utsav Chowk. The following day, they will perform at the studio 'Dance 2 Fit,' and on October 5th, a grand dandiya event will take place at 7 PM on the grounds opposite Little World Mall. On October 6th, the team will showcase their moves at Nariman Point Garba, and on October 7th, they will perform at Sai World City, Panvel.
