Chief Minister Eknath Shinde declared that Maharashtra leads the nation in the creation of infrastructure projects, emphasizing the extensive development efforts across the state. Speaking at the inauguration of the North Channel of Thane Khadi Bridge-3 in Vashi, he highlighted that the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) is currently implementing projects valued at nearly Rs. 2 lakh crores.

During the event, which also featured the Bhumi Pooja of seven new creek bridges on the Rewas (Raigad) to Redi (Sindhudurg) sea highway, CM Shinde pointed out the ongoing construction and development initiatives throughout Maharashtra. "If you travel to any part of the state, you will see various projects and development works taking place," he stated.

Among the attendees were Public Works Minister Dadaji Bhuse, former MP Rahul Shewale, and several senior officials from the MSRDC. The Chief Minister mentioned that the inauguration of the North Channel of Thane Khadi Bridge No.3 and the laying of seven additional creek bridges would significantly contribute to easing traffic congestion in the region and promoting tourism in Konkan.

"These creek bridges will not only enhance connectivity but will also boost the local economy, especially during this festive season," Shinde added, referring to the ongoing Diwali celebrations. The total length of the seven creek bridges is approximately 26.70 kilometers, with an administrative approval of Rs.7,851 crores.

The Chief Minister further detailed the extensive plans for infrastructure development, including a grid network of expressways totalling 5,000 km across the state. He announced the initiation of the Konkan Greenfield Expressway, which, upon completion, will reduce travel time between Mumbai and Konkan to just five hours.

The North Channel of Thane Khadi Bridge is set to open for traffic from Monday, October 14, with the south channel from Pune to Mumbai already 80% complete. This development marks a crucial step in improving the state's infrastructure and ensuring smoother travel for commuters.
