Navi Mumbai: The NRI police have registered a case against Today Royal Developers for allegedly cutting down hundreds of trees without obtaining mandatory permissions from CIDCO and the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation.

The incident took place on plots 3, 6, and 7 in sector-52, Seawoods, allotted to the company by CIDCO. As per regulations, the developer was required to seek approval before felling any trees on the land. However, large-scale tree cutting was carried out last month without any such clearance.

The matter came to light when Belapur Revenue Officer (Talathi) Nilesh Kamble discovered the unauthorised activity and filed a complaint with the NRI police station.

Following the complaint, a case has been registered under Section 15(1) of the Environment Protection Act, 1986, and further action is underway against the construction firm.
