District Election Officer Ashok Shingare provides detailed guidance to political parties ahead of Assembly Elections

In preparation for the upcoming Assembly General Election 2024, District Election Decision Officer and Collector Ashok Shingare conducted a comprehensive meeting with representatives from various political parties. The session, held in the committee hall, focused on the responsibilities of political parties, the nomination process, and adherence to the Code of Conduct established by the Election Commission.

Shingare emphasized the importance of following the Code of Conduct strictly and adhering to election expenditure guidelines. He urged all political party representatives to utilize the information available on the Government of India portal as a reference for their activities. "It is crucial to take all necessary precautions, especially regarding the nomination process. Additionally, facilities at polling stations must be accessible for elderly and disabled voters," he stated.

The meeting also highlighted the need for political parties to appoint representatives at each polling booth to ensure smooth operations on the polling day. Shingare encouraged all attendees to promote the use of various Election Commission apps and reminded them of the toll-free number 1950 for reporting complaints related to bribery, intimidation, or undue influence on voters. "People should reach out to the 24 hours complaint control room number in case of any issues that may arise," he added.

 The session included guidance from Vijaysingh Deshmukh, Head of the Code of Conduct Cell, who provided insights into the dos and don’ts of the electoral code. Sukeshini Pagare, Assistant Nodal Officer of the Code of Conduct Cell, was also present to assist in the discussions.

Furthermore, Manoj Shivaji Sanap, Member Secretary and Nodal Officer of the Media Standardization and Control Committee, outlined the protocols in place for media engagement during the election period.

The meeting concluded with detailed information on election-related expenses provided by Satyawan Ubale, Chief Finance and Accounts Officer of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, along with other financial officers from local government bodies
