Mahayuti ushers in united leadership; state wise celebrations held
Devendra Fadnavis is poised to take oath as Maharashtra’s Chief Minister for the third time in a grand ceremony at Azad Maidan on Thursday, December 5. This announcement followed the Mahayuti alliance—comprising BJP, Shiv Sena (Shinde faction), and NCP—staking their claim to form the government after a meeting with Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan on Wednesday.
Fadnavis extended heartfelt gratitude to Shiv Sena Chief Eknath Shinde and NCP President Ajit Pawar for their support. “I especially thank Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar for submitting letters backing my candidacy for the CM’s post. This is a united front, and we will continue to take collective decisions for Maharashtra’s progress,” he said.
The decision has been met with widespread celebrations across the state by members of the Mahayuti alliance.
Aditi Tatkare from the Ajit Pawar-led NCP praised the move, stating, “We had the opportunity to work under his leadership alongside Eknath Shinde sir. I am confident Maharashtra will continue on a progressive path under Devendra Fadnavis sir, and the state is set for a new era.”
BJP MLA Manda Mhatre from Belapur constituency remarked, “All the Ladki Bahin are happy with this decision. Special arrangements have been made for travel and food for our constituency members attending the celebration.”
Panvel MLA Prashant Thakur lauded Fadnavis’s contributions, noting, “He has left no stone unturned for the development of both urban and rural areas. Initiatives like Atal Setu and the Navi Mumbai International Airport were initiated under his leadership. People will witness a New Maharashtra during his tenure.”
Navi Mumbai BJP President Ramchandra Gharat called the appointment a fulfillment of the aspirations of 13 crore people. “With Devendra Fadnavis as CM, Maharashtra’s progress will be rapid, and the state will achieve new heights,” he stated.
BJP Navi Mumbai spokesperson Raju Shinde expressed gratitude, saying, “This decision reflects the trust our leaders, including PM Modi, Amit Shah, and JP Nadda, have in Fadnavis. His patience and sacrifices have been rightly rewarded.”
Datta Ghangale, District President of BJP Yuva Morcha, emphasized that the CM appointment aligns with the people’s mandate. “This is a reward for Fadnavis’s hard work and his strategic vision for the state,” he said.
Preparations for the grand oath-taking ceremony are in full swing at Azad Maidan, with thousands of supporters expected to attend.
