A pedestrian tragically lost his life in a fatal accident involving a BEST bus on Walchand Hirachand Marg, near the Commissioner’s Office in the CSMT area in Mumbai, on Wednesday (December 11) evening.

The incident took place at approximately 16:25 hours (4:25 p.m.), when the bus, operating on Route A-26 / Sr.33, was travelling from Anushakti Nagar to Electric House.

As the bus reached the intersection near the Commissioner’s Office, a pedestrian was struck by the vehicle and run over. Despite efforts to assist, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The bus involved in the accident, numbered 6972 (MH 03 EC 0174), was driven by Dnyandev Namdeo Jagdale, with Nandkishore Shankar Lambkhade serving as the conductor. The identity of the deceased has not yet been confirmed. The authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
