Flamingos in Navi Mumbai: The dance of flamboyance

The first experience can never be repeated. The first love, the first sunrise, the first South Sea islands, are memories apart and touched a virginity of sense, so said Robert Louis Stevenson.
To the list, we should add the sight of flamingos at the wetlands in Navi Mumbai especially the creek behind TS Chanakya.
The dictionary lists the collective noun for flamingos as flamboyance and rightfully so. Every human should watch it at least once.
A graceful glide with extended long necks as they arrive, a sea of blooming pink ‘lotuses’ after settling, a musical cacophony of calls, a ballet symphony of coordinated wooing dance called ‘flamboyance’... and flurry of pink feathers, a heady addicting "swoosh" of their wings as they fly out in arborizing patterns, the sun catching their ‘wings of fire’ as they head back to the creek in batches, the cacophony of calls is music to the ears.
I never tire of this annual phenomenon. Year after year, disregarding the humidity or the summer heat...we are pulled to this amazing place. Just to see the birds do the tango.
Not sure how long before the land sharks gobble up this serene haven, an unbelievable paradise in the middle of the concrete jungle.
I implore everyone to visit and fight for its survival.
