Flickering lights on JNPA-Karal flyover to Jasai Bridge pose accident risk

top-news

The stretch from Dronagiri Node to the Coastal Road and JNPA-Karal Flyover to Jasai Bridge has become a safety hazard due to malfunctioning streetlights. Drivers are left struggling with darkness and flickering lights, raising serious concerns about road safety. Citizens and motorists have demanded urgent repairs to these streetlights.

Uran's development, driven by the JNPA port, has led to a surge in heavy vehicle traffic on these roads, vital for transporting goods domestically and internationally. Unfortunately, negligence by authorities, including the JNPA, National Highways, and CIDCO, has left many streetlights non-functional for years. This has resulted in frequent accidents and traffic jams, creating significant risks for drivers and pedestrians alike.

Recently, incidents such as the death of four buffaloes in a road accident at Dastan Phata highlighted the hazards of unlit roads. Night time accidents have claimed innocent lives, and reports of robberies have further underscored the unsafe conditions.
