Residents and pedestrians in the vicinity of Santha Gyanaswar Marg, as well as adjoining areas like the footpaths at Palm Beach Service road, Palm Beach Road and the road that runs parallel to the train car shed at Sanpada, have been grappling with persistent waste management issues, such as piles of dry leaves, trash, and even discarded furniture. This issue is affecting multiple sectors in Sanpada such as Sector 1, Sector 17, Sector 16A, Sector 15, Sector 19, and Sector 18.

Maria Kaur, a resident, has been chronicling this issue via her Twitter account and has shared various pictures regarding this problem. While speaking to Newsband, she said, “The dry leaves problem as far as I witnessed on my daily walks is that they stopped removing them around the end of 2023, at Sector 1, they started to burn it about which I complained via Twitter, later they stopped burning them and it’s been piling up mixing with trash such piles that may lay from few days to few weeks until removed, but after 1-2 days a new pile is found again.”

She added, “I hope the authorities pay attention to do this and maintain cleanliness. Santha Gyanaswar Marg, that entire street, and pathways belonging to it have become problematic with bad sweeping, gutter material, cut trees, stones and trash piles. The road outside Iraisaa building  and buildings in Sector 19,  Sanpada on both sides store their construction debris in pathways blocking the way.  There was also discarded furniture outside Kadambari CHS.

Aryan Patil, another Sanpada resident said, “We cannot turn a blind eye to the mounting garbage and neglect on our streets. It is imperative that the authorities ensure that our neighborhoods remain clean.”

Adding further he said, “Piles of dried leaves accumulating and mixing with other refuse and garbage, create unsightly eyesore and make the locality look bad. I hope our pleas are heard and there is regular clearance of this mess.
