A heated altercation during a screening of Pushpa-2 at Seawoods Mall escalated into violence, resulting in the assault of a former corporator from Nerul and his nephew on Saturday night. Following the incident, the NRI police have filed a case against six individuals, including three youths allegedly involved in the assault and the theatre manager, supervisor, and security guard for failing to intervene.

The incident occurred when the former corporator, accompanied by his family, confronted three youths making obscene remarks during the movie. The altercation quickly spiralled out of control, and the parties moved outside the theatre. In the ensuing clash, the three youths—identified as Izhar Sheikh, Wajid Alam, and Sajid Alam—physically assaulted the corporator and his nephew.

Eyewitnesses report that the theatre's staff, including the manager Abbas Sheikh, supervisor Prakash Thukarul, and security guard Shubham Khopde, did not step in to de-escalate the situation and instead remained passive observers.

The former corporator, who sustained minor injuries, lodged a complaint at the NRI police station. Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code against all six individuals.
