Four Navi Mumbai Officers to receive President’s Medal

In recognition of their exceptional service and dedication, four officers from the Navi Mumbai Police Commissionerate will be honoured with the prestigious President's Medal. The awardees include Additional Commissioner of Police Deepak Sakore, Assistant Commissioner of Police Dharmapal Bansode, Senior Police Inspector Rajendra Karbhari Kote of Kalamboli Police Station, and Assistant Police Sub-Inspector Jitendra Vitthal Mhatre. These officers have been praised for their outstanding contributions to law enforcement and public safety.

The President's Medal, announced by the Union Home Department, is awarded annually to police officers who have demonstrated remarkable and meritorious service. A total of 43 police officers from Maharashtra receive the honour this year, with four distinguished officers from Navi Mumbai being recognized for their exemplary work.

Deepak Sakore – Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime), Navi Mumbai
Mr.Sakore, who began his career as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DYSP) in 1996, has made significant contributions in various districts across Maharashtra, including Yavatmal, Dhule, Solapur, and Kolhapur. His tenure as Superintendent of Police in the Anti-Corruption Department in Thane was marked by successful investigations into complex cybercrimes and corruption cases. As Additional Commissioner of Police in Navi Mumbai, Sakore has been instrumental in cracking down on notorious criminals under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA). He has also earned recognition for his strategic planning during the Kumbh Mela security in Nashik.

Dharmapal Bansode – Assistant Commissioner of Police (Anti- Human Trafficking Unit), Navi Mumbai
Mr. Bansode, who joined the police force in 1992, has demonstrated unwavering commitment to tackling human trafficking and protecting vulnerable individuals. He represented India in two United Nations peacekeeping missions and earned commendations for his contributions to global peace. Mr.Bansode has successfully defused a bomb in Mumbai, saving countless lives, and has trained over a thousand police personnel in bomb detection and countermeasures. His investigative work has led to the rescue of hundreds of victims from human trafficking, and he has been pivotal in exposing fake visa and passport networks.

Rajendra Karbhari Kote – Senior Police Inspector, Kalamboli Police Station
Mr.Kote, with 30 years of dedicated service, has become a well-respected officer within the police force. As the Senior Police Inspector of Kalamboli Police Station, Kote has been involved in numerous successful operations and investigations. He has received 211 rewards throughout his career, including honours for his work as a trainer and content developer. His proactive approach in crime prevention and community safety has earned him special recognition from the Director General of Police.

Jitendra Vitthal Mhatre – Assistant Police Sub-Inspector, Navi Mumbai Police Commissionerate
Mr.Mhatre, who started his career in Raigad as a Police Constable in 1993, has spent the last 32 years serving with distinction in the Navi Mumbai Police Force. Currently working at Panvel Taluka Police Station, Mr.Mhatre has been recognized for his exceptional work in crime detection, preventive action, and his role as a confidential clerk. He has received 226 rewards for his outstanding contributions to law enforcement and public service.
