In a special initiative to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8, the Vasai Virar City Municipal Corporation (VVCMC) has announced free travel for women in its municipal transport buses for the entire day.

International Women’s Day is observed in over 100 countries worldwide to honour the achievements of women and promote gender equality.

To support and empower women, VVCMC Commissioner Anil Kumar Pawar has introduced this free transport service initiative, encouraging women to avail of public transportation free of cost.

“All women commuters in Vasai-Virar are urged to make the most of this facility and participate in the celebrations of International Women’s Day 2025”, said Mr. Pawar.
