Violates NGT orders
Serious concerns have emerged regarding waste disposal practices at the Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC). It has been revealed that instead of collecting the garbage, it is being burnt on-site, in clear violation of National Green Tribunal (NGT) regulations.
The APMC market committee, which spends approximately Rs.15 lakh every month on waste collection, has been under fire from traders and local residents for mishandling garbage. Traders have complained that waste has been left unattended for 7 to 8 days, leading to an unhygienic condition. Rather than properly managing and disposing of the waste, authorities have opted to burn it directly at the market.
