Mumbai: In celebration of this year’s Gauri Ganapati festival, the state government has announced a special initiative to provide "Anandacha Shidha" to a staggering 1 crore 70 lakh 82 thousand 86 ration card holders.

The "Anandacha Shidha" set, available at a subsidized rate of Rs. 100 per set, will include essential items such as 1 kg each of semolina, chana dal, sugar, and one liter of soybean oil. The distribution of these sets will commence on August 15, 2024, and continue through September 15, 2024.

This initiative targets priority family ration card holders under the public distribution system, including those in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Amravati divisions, Wardha in the Nagpur division, and 14 farmer suicide victims from the above-poverty-line (APL) orange ration card holders. A total of Rs. 562.51 crore has been allocated for the procurement of these ration sets.

The distribution will be carried using the e-POS system, ensuring efficient delivery to the beneficiaries. This festive distribution aims to bring relief and joy to families across the state during the auspicious occasion.
