GR release expected soon, says Vijay Nahata

Navi Mumbai: Shiv Sena Deputy Leader Vijay Nahata held a crucial meeting with CIDCO Managing Director Vijay Singhal to address various concerns raised by local project-affected people, traders, and Devasthan Committees in Navi Mumbai. The discussions focused on the regularization of additional housing built out of necessity by local bhoomiputras and others.

During the visit, Nahata confirmed that CIDCO and the government are working to issue a Government Resolution (GR) soon, which will regularize the additional construction in Navi Mumbai. The initiative aims to resolve pending issues related to these additional structures and ensure their permanence.

Nahata explained that the previous GR issued under Urban Development Minister Eknath Shinde had some errors, which delayed the regularization process. However, with Shinde now serving as Chief Minister, he has instructed CIDCO to rectify these errors and expedite the revised GR proposal. Nahata emphasized that Chief Minister Shinde's immediate decision to address these issues reflects the government's commitment to resolving the problems faced by the project-affected residents.

In addition to the GR, Nahata discussed several other key issues with CIDCO MD Vijay Singhal. These include the removal of restrictive commercial benefits and inheritance rights rules, as well as the cancellation of house transfer charges if not applicable. Nahata also pushed for the provision of housing for 285 traders under CIDCO’s scheme, immediate plots for farmers affected by the Dronagiri project, and low-rate plots for various temple Devasthan Committees.

The CIDCO MD responded positively to these demands and assured Nahata that steps would be taken to address them in the upcoming meetings. The meeting was attended by Shiv Sena upazila chief Rohidas Patil, city chief Vijay Mane, Pramod Joshi, president of Navi Mumbai Business Federation, Satish Nikam of Citizen Forum, Bhaskar Mhatre, secretary of Housing Federation, Sunil Chhajed, and officials from various organizations.
