The Goregaon Sports Club (GSC) in collaboration with Shuttlecraze will be organizing the a week long Yonex Sunrise Senior Inter District (Team) and State Badminton Championship 2024, to be conducted under the auspices of Maharashtra Badminton Association (MBA) and Badminton Association for Mumbai Upanagar (BAMU).

The Championship, touted to be the largest in the state, returns to Mumbai after nearly a decade and will be hosted by the GSC at its sprawling Indoor Badminton Courts based at Link Road, Malad West, starting from Sunday 29th September, 2024.

“The official Senior State Championship has come to Mumbai after a decade. I feel privileged to have the opportunity to provide the best-in-class sports facilities for Maharashtra State shuttlers at the Goregaon Sports Club from 29th September to 5th October, 2024,” shared Dr Arlene Ghosh, Event Head and Director ShuttleCraze.

“I am elated to share that Mumbaikars will witness some exciting matches and see the young and top ranked players of Maharashtra State battle in this competition to make it into the State squad to compete in the forthcoming National Championship, ” added ACP (Rtd) Avinash Dharmadhikari – President of Badminton Association for Mumbai Upanagar

The tournament will comprise of five individual events viz.  Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Singles, Women’s Doubles, Mixed Doubles and also Men’s & Women’s Team events Inter-District Team Championship.  The Scoring System which will be based on Best of three games to 15 points in the initial rounds if f the number of entries is large and soon be supplemented by Best of three games to 21 points (Rally Point System).
