In a bid to raise awareness about the ongoing atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh, the Hindu Society of Navi Mumbai (Sakal Hindu Samaj) organized a peaceful protest rally on Sunday, December 8, 2024. The rally, which took place from 4 pm to 6 pm, began at the Gaondevi Maryai Mata Temple in Juhugaon and proceeded to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk in Vashi.

Around 5,000 people, including devotees, religious leaders, members of various organizations, saints, and common citizens, participated in the rally. Prominent figures, such as Mahant Advait Chaitanyaprabhu Das Maharaj from the ISKCON Temple in Kharghar and Gautam Rawari, the co-convener of Bajrang Dal’s Konkan province, voiced their concerns over the situation in Bangladesh.

Both leaders expressed their dissatisfaction with the ongoing persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh and demanded action against the Bangladeshi infiltrators and Rohingyas working in Navi Mumbai’s APMC fruit and other markets. They urged the police and local authorities to take immediate action by expelling the infiltrators and hiring local workers.

Advait Chaitanyaprabhu Das Maharaj addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of unity among Hindus in response to the atrocities. He stated, "Tolerance has become the greatest weakness for Hindus today. The same Bangladesh, for which Hindus fought for peace, is now witnessing persecution of its Hindu population." He also highlighted the plight of Sri Chinmay Das Ji, an ISKCON leader, who was illegally arrested and mistreated by Bangladeshi authorities.

Gautam Rawari further criticized the Bangladesh government, pointing out that the oppression of Hindus has intensified under the leadership of Mohammad Yunus. Since the formation of his government, minority Hindus have faced increased violence, including attacks, murders, looting, arson, and sexual violence. Despite these grave violations, the government and police in Bangladesh have failed to protect the minority community, often suppressing their protests.

The rally in Navi Mumbai is part of a larger movement, with similar protests planned across India. On December 10, a peace rally will be held in Raigad, with participants marching from Panvel Railway Station to Panvel Bus Depot at 4:30 pm. A memorandum will be submitted to the Raigad Collectorate.
