The Transport Commissioner of Maharashtra has announced the mandatory installation of High Security Number Plates (HSRP) on all motor vehicles registered before April 1, 2019. This initiative aims to enhance national security, reduce vehicle-related crimes, prevent tampering and counterfeiting, and address various malpractices associated with vehicle registration. The Supreme Court has also issued directives regarding the installation of HSRP on all motor vehicles.

To facilitate this process, the department has appointed M/s REAL MAZON INDIA LTD. as the authorized agency and has established the associated fees and timelines.

According to the Transport Department's instructions, HSRP number plates will be issued to all eligible vehicles after verifying their documents. Ashutosh Barkul, Deputy Regional Transport Officer of the Kalyan Sub Regional Transport Office, has urged vehicle owners to ensure that HSRP number plates are affixed to their older vehicles by March 31, 2025, in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) issued by the Transport Department.

The fees for HSRP installation are as follows:

Rs. 450 for two-wheelers and tractors

Rs. 500 for three-wheelers

Rs. 745 for light motor vehicles, passenger cars, medium commercial vehicles, heavy commercial vehicles, trailers, and combinations

Vehicle owners can access the HSRP booking portal at https://hsrpmhzone2.in, where they must accurately fill in all necessary vehicle information.
