Illegal parking of vehicles in front of the newly constructed Bhiwandi-Nizampur City Municipal Corporation (BNCMC) Headquarters has become a growing issue. School buses and private vehicles are often parked on the pavement outside the main gate of the municipal building. Despite the persistent problem, the municipal administration has shown little effort in taking action or removing the parked vehicles.
The situation has sparked concerns in the city, as the same Municipal Corporation that regularly tackles encroachments across the city seems unable to address the issue in front of its own headquarters. Municipal sources reveal that despite the financial constraints of the corporation, substantial funds are being allocated every month for the security of the building. However, the presence of scrap cars and large vehicles around the premises is not only narrowing the roads but also causing significant obstacles for other vehicles.
The encroachment department has been criticized for overlooking this issue, putting the security of the municipal building at risk. Local citizens are worried that the illegal parking is endangering the safety of the building and its surroundings. In response to this, Kailas Karnakar, Secretary of the Forum for Justice, has written a letter to Municipal Commissioner Ajay Vaidya. In his letter, Karnakar has demanded that the municipality take immediate action to ban the parking of both old and new vehicles near the administrative buildings. He has also called for regular patrols by security guards to remove these vehicles and ensure the safety and accessibility of the area.
