Senior member of the Maharashtra State Legislative Assembly, Kalidas Sulochana Nilkanth Kolambkar, was sworn in as the Pro-tem Speaker of the Assembly at a ceremony held at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai.

The oath of office was administered by Maharashtra Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan during the brief event.

The ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chairperson of the Maharashtra Legislative Council Dr. Neelam Gorhe, and Chief Secretary Sujata Saunik.

Kolambkar, a seasoned legislator, will carry out the responsibilities of the Pro-tem Speaker, including overseeing the assembly's functioning and swearing in newly elected members until a permanent Speaker is appointed.
