Kalyan: In a remarkable display of both environmental responsibility and social awareness, the Jagruti Mitra Mandal at Beturkar Pada has installed an 11-foot eco-friendly Ganesh idol for this year’s Ganeshotsav. Continuing a 12-year tradition of environmentally conscious celebrations, the mandal's latest creation stands as a tribute to working women.

Crafted by sculptor Yatin Jadhav, the idol is made entirely from sustainable materials, including paper pulp, bamboo sticks, wire, and wheat chaff. This eco-friendly approach reflects the mandal’s commitment to preserving the environment while celebrating the festival.

The theme of this year’s decoration centres on the working woman, highlighting the daily struggles and contributions of women who balance household responsibilities with professional duties. The mandal’s intricate decoration portrays a working woman managing her household chores, commuting to work by train, and enduring the challenges of balancing work and home life. Vishal Choudhary, a member of the mandal, shared that the decoration vividly depicts the resilience and dedication of working women, who often face societal judgments despite their relentless efforts.

Vishal Choudhary, a member of the Mandal, explained that the theme aims to shed light on the resilience of working women and the respect they deserve. This year's display not only celebrates Ganeshotsav but also serves as a poignant reminder of the vital roles women play in society.
