The Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) marked a significant milestone by celebrating the silver jubilee of its transport service at Ganesh Ghat Agar. The event commemorated 25 years of service and included a series of events under the guidance of Transport Manager Dr. Deepak Sawant.

The celebration began with Satyanarayana pujan, followed by a health camp and a Chotekhani program. The highlight of the event was the ceremonial cake cutting by KDMC Commissioner Dr. Indurani Jakhar, who congratulated the employees and expressed a positive outlook on implementing the old pension scheme for transport employees.

The event was skillfully moderated by Sharad Jadhav, who provided insights into the transport activities. He also emphasized future plans to unify transport services across all municipalities in Thane district under a single authority, while ensuring that KDMC's transport employees retain their positions within the corporation. Jadhav strongly advocated for the implementation of the old pension scheme on behalf of all employees.

Transport Manager Dr. Deepak Sawant reflected on the past 25 years, highlighting the corporation's efforts to serve the citizens through various transport initiatives. He noted the progressive development of KDMC's transport fleet, starting with their own buses, followed by the addition of buses under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) in 2014, and the future inclusion of electric buses. Sawant also announced plans for a dedicated building for transport activities and urged everyone to work with a sense of ownership and commitment.

Commissioner Dr. Indurani Jakhar congratulated the transport employees on reaching the silver jubilee milestone. She assured that the new unified transport authority would enhance service delivery to citizens and promised technical training for employees to better equip them for future challenges. Dr. Jakhar's positive stance on the old pension scheme was well received by the attendees.

The success of the event was attributed to the dedicated efforts of several key staff members, including Transport Officer Office Superintendent Priya Nigde, Kishore Ghadi, Trishart Mulik, Pramod Bagul, Deepak Chaudhary, Bharat Sangle, Machindra Kanse, Sandeep Dalal, Prashant Jawle, Gangadhar Rathod, and Gaurakh Pawar, among others.
