KDMC celebrates 41st anniversary with entertainment program for sanitation workers

Kalyan : In a unique celebration marking the 41st anniversary of the Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC), an entertainment program was organized on 1st October, exclusively for the sanitation workers under the initiative "Swachhata Hi Seva." The event recognized the tireless efforts of these essential workers who play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness in the city.

The program, attended by Municipal Corporation Additional Commissioner Harshal Gaikwad, Deputy Commissioner Atul Patil, and various other officials, commenced with an oath of cleanliness. Municipal Commissioner Dr. Indu Rani Jakhar distributed masks and gloves to the attendees, emphasizing the importance of health and safety for those in the sanitation sector.

Dr. Jakhar praised the sanitation workers for their dedicated service, stating, "People's expectations and our provisions make a difference in the facilities we provide to the citizens, but we should trust people with our honest work." She also announced that the Solid Waste Management Department will soon receive new vehicles and additional manpower to alleviate the workload on existing staff.

The entertainment program featured performances by the sanitation workers themselves, who captivated the audience with their talent. Additionally, a financial literacy session was organized to equip the workers with essential financial skills and knowledge.

The event was skillfully moderated by Mahesh Deshpande, Rupesh Hindurao, and Narendra Chavan, who ensured a lively atmosphere throughout the celebration.
