As winter sets in the Kalyan-Dombivli region, Deputy Commissioner of Social Development Department Sanjay Jadhav conducted an inspection of homeless shelter centres established by the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC). These centres, set up at Pandurang Wadi in Dombivli East, Titwala area, and Kalyan West, aim to provide temporary relief and basic amenities to the homeless.

Under the directives of Municipal Commissioner Dr. Indu Rani Jakhar, the KDMC has arranged homes for homeless individuals to receive breakfast, meals, hot water for bathing, and temporary shelter. The initiative reflects the municipal corporation's commitment to ensuring the well-being of vulnerable citizens during harsh weather conditions.

Late last night, Deputy Commissioner Sanjay Jadhav visited the C Ward temporary shelter centre in Kalyan West and the Savli shelter centre in Pandurang Wadi, Dombivli East. He assessed the facilities and confirmed the availability of adequate blankets to shield the homeless from the night-time chill. Additionally, he interacted with the shelter's residents to understand their needs and concerns.
