The Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) has intensified its efforts to recover outstanding property taxes, leading to the sealing of several non-residential properties in the G and F wards. This action comes as a response to persistent non-compliance from property owners despite multiple visits and notices.
Under the directive of KDMC Commissioner Dr. Indu Rani Jakhar and with the guidance of Swati Deshpande from the Tax Assessment and Collection Department, C ward officials took decisive measures on Wednesday.
C ward Sixth Commissioner Sanjay Kumar Kumawat, along with Superintendent Dnyaneshwar Kankhare, Senior Clerk Naresh Mhatre, and Clerk Ramchandra Dalvi, executed the sealing of properties with significant tax arrears.
In a notable case, property No. G01001703500 located at Kasturi Plaza on Manpada Road, Dombivli (East), was sealed due to an outstanding tax amount of Rs. 20,58,191 owed by Sheetal Academy and Soham Classes.
In Ward F, a separate team led by Deputy Commissioner Hema Mumbarkar and Superintendent Mahesh Patil sealed flat number 501, property number F01014490700 in Shreeji Palace, for an outstanding amount of Rs. 1,55,266. Additionally, flat number C/409, property number F01001864500 in Orient Society was also sealed for an outstanding tax of Rs. 1,397.
The KDMC's crackdown on property sealing is part of a broader initiative to ensure compliance with tax regulations and recover dues owed to the municipal corporation. Officials have reiterated their commitment to enforcing tax collection measures and will take stringent actions against defaulters.
