Earn residents’ gratitude
The Kharghar Traffic Branch has stepped up its enforcement drive against traffic violators, drawing appreciation from local residents. Images shared on social media show traffic police officers photographing improperly parked vehicles and documenting other infractions in areas such as Shilp Chowk, Sector 27, and Sector 2 near the station.
Under the supervision of Senior Police Inspector Mr. Santosh Kane, the team is focusing on wrong-side driving, the use of high beams, and roadside parking, aiming to restore order on busy streets.
Subhash Kabnur, a vigilant citizen who tweets about issues related to Kharghar commended the traffic branch’s efforts, highlighting the positive impact of regular monitoring and strict action against offenders.
He said, “Regular Police monitoring is already paying rich dividends. Even with concreting roadworks traffic is moving smoothly and violations are reducing. The Kharghar Traffic Police have also patrolled and monitored areas in Sector 35, Sector 15, and the double parking menace at Shilp Chowk. They have cracked down on violations made by errant drivers and motorists.”
Kabnur added, “Their goal is to cultivate safer roads by ensuring drivers follow traffic regulations, respect fellow commuters, and contribute to a more orderly driving environment.”
The images shared by Kabnur show uniformed officers taking photographs of cars parked at odd angles or obstructing traffic. Each photo includes location and time stamps, reflecting the Kharghar Traffic Police’s meticulous documentation of infringements. According to citizens, such evidence-based enforcement not only holds violators accountable but also acts as a deterrent for other motorists.
Kharghar residents have called for continued measures such as lane markings, stricter lane discipline, and the promotion of roadworthy vehicles
Another Kharghar resident, Kunal Patil, stated that it is important to maintain momentum while keeping motorists alert to the rules.
Senior Police Inspector Kane and his team plan to extend the crackdown to other areas, including Sector 35 and Sector 15, in the coming weeks.
