Collect Rs.29.41 lakh in fine

The Koparkhairane traffic police took strict action against 3,185 motorists for violating traffic rules in February as part of a special enforcement campaign. A total fine of Rs. 29,41,500 was collected from offenders, with 1,037 bikers penalised for not wearing helmets.

To improve traffic discipline and road safety awareness, the Koparkhairane Traffic Branch regularly conducts various awareness programs and enforcement drives.

As per the directives of Navi Mumbai Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Tirupati Kakade, a special crackdown was implemented in February to curb traffic violations.

During the campaign, motorists were penalised for offenses including signal jumping, drunk driving, no-parking violations, and loud silencers. The highest number of violations recorded were for riding without helmets, highlighting a persistent issue in road safety compliance.

Assistant Police Inspector Vishwas Bhingardive, in charge of the Koparkhairane Traffic Branch, confirmed the figures and stated that such campaigns would continue to ensure better adherence to traffic rules and prevent road accidents.
