Kulgaon Badlapur Municipal Council presents budget for 2025-26

The Kulgaon Badlapur Municipal Council (KBMC) presented a balanced budget for the financial year 2025-26, with total revenue and expenditure nearly matching at Rs. 619.57 crore and Rs. 619.52 crore, respectively, leaving a surplus of Rs.5.04 lakh. The budget, which proposes no tax increase, was presented on February 24, 2025, by Accountant Vikas Chavan to Administrator and Chief Officer Maruti Gaikwad.
The budget includes key allocations for infrastructure and urban development, with Rs. 2.5 crore earmarked for road construction, Rs. 50 crore for the Maharashtra Suvarna Jayanti Nagarothan Mahabhiyan (district level), and Rs.100 crore for the state-level redevelopment initiative. Additionally, Rs.34 crore has been allocated for solid waste management, and Rs.25 lakh for disaster management.
The budget also emphasized social welfare initiatives, allocating Rs.1.39 crore each for women and child welfare and the rehabilitation of disabled individuals, along with Rs.10 lakh for senior citizen service facilities.
Chief Officer Maruti Gaikwad, along with department heads, was present during the budget presentation. The budget has been submitted to the District Collector of Thane for final approval.
