Navi Mumbai: The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs honoured Maharashtra for its outstanding implementation of the Deen Dayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihood Mission and Pradhan Mantri Pathakreta Nidhi Yojana. Maharashtra won 9 out of 33 awards in the campaign, demonstrating excellence in both initiatives for the year 2023-24.

Maharashtra State was awarded the first place under PM Swanidhi 2023-24 for the best implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Pathakreta Atmanirbhar Nidhi. The award was presented at the "Excellence Ki Aur Badte Kadam" program held in New Delhi on July 18. Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal, Minister of State Tokhan Sahu, Secretary Anurag Jain, and Joint Secretary Rahul Kapoor presented the award, which was accepted by Director Manoj Ranade.

Since 2021, Maharashtra has disbursed loans amounting to Rs. 805 crore to 8.07 lakh street vendors. The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs recognized Maharashtra with 8 awards for its excellent performance under both the Deen Dayal Antyodaya Yojana and PM Swanidhi 2023-24.

The local self-government bodies that performed excellently under the Deen Dayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihood Mission include Pavani Municipal Council, Malegaon Municipality, Chandrapur Municipality, Nashik Municipality, and Nagpur Municipality. Under the Pradhan Mantri Pathakreta Atmanirbhar Fund, the best-performing civic bodies were Mangalvedha Nagar Parishad and Solapur Municipal Corporation. Additionally, Chandrapur Municipal Corporation received an award for the innovative city-level team award.

Sushila Pawar, Deputy Secretary of the State Urban Development Department; Shankar Gore, Assistant Secretary of Municipal Council Administration Directorate; Under Secretary Anil Kumar Ugle; Commissioner Madhuri Madke; and other officials, along with the beneficiaries of the schemes, were present at the award ceremony.
