The Changemaker Excellence Award ceremony, organised in collaboration with Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation (MBMC), Connecting Dreams Foundation, BPCL, and Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini Foundation, was held recently. The event recognised the outstanding contributions of teachers and students from 15 municipal schools.
The ceremony was attended by MBMC Commissioner and Administrator Sanjay Shripatrao Katkar (IAS), Deputy Commissioner (Education) Prasad Shingte, Assistant Commissioner (Education) Dipali Pawar, and office bearers from Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini, including Jaywantrao Kulkarni, Umesh More, and Hemant Mhatre, alongside several teachers and students.
As part of the initiative, in June 2024, a three-day workshop on problem-solving was conducted at Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini for municipal school teachers under the guidance of Connecting Dreams Foundation and BPCL. The training aimed to equip teachers with skills to address challenges in school management and student education, helping them develop effective solutions.
Following the workshop, teachers imparted these skills to students, encouraging them to identify real-world problems and devise solutions in small groups. The projects were developed collaboratively by students and teachers, and their implementation was later evaluated and graded by Connecting Dreams Foundation.
To felicitate those who excelled in these problem-solving-based projects, an award distribution ceremony was held on 13 February 2025. Teachers and students from 15 municipal schools were recognised for their efforts, with awards given based on project implementation, innovative solutions, and overall impact.
The Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation continues to prioritise high-quality education, introducing initiatives such as job assurance for SSC students under the Centre of Excellence, art and sports festivals, and cultural programmes. These efforts have contributed to a steady rise in student enrolment.
Additionally, for the upcoming academic year, all school materials, including uniforms, will be distributed to students on result day, 1st May, announced MBMC Commissioner Sanjay Shripatrao Katkar (IAS).
