The Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) has achieved a record-breaking property tax collection of Rs241.59 crore. This marks an increase of Rs48 crore compared to the previous year.

According to officials, the tax collection process saw substantial digital adoption, facilitating payments through the official MBMC website and the MyMBMC mobile app.

A total of 1.4 lakh citizens opted for online payments, while 1.59 lakh made payments through cash and cheques.

In a parallel effort to recover pending dues, MBMC intensified actions against defaulters, leading to property seizures and auctions. This strict enforcement prompted many property owners to clear their long-standing arrears.
